I remember 2000 when Flash intro and full flash sites were the definition of a great website. The reason it happened was because the intertubes were so friggin ugly (I guess it was still HTML 4 but no one was using css) that any chance to make shit pretty was jumped on. Also any idiot with a Flash 5 demo version could throw one together in a few hours and charge 500-1k for it. Now you have to learn something to make it look nice.
