I have instead given up

It had gotten to the point that project that I thought was 95% finished just needs to be redone.  I have accepted it and am feeling quite free.  It was supposed to be a simple simple project to clean up some code and I should have rewritten the whole thing from the start.   I knew it when I first looked at it, but believed that I could fix it, but somethings shouldn’t be fixed.  They should be buried and begun again.

Yes. Ummm, yes. I’m having one right now. —- —- —- Also, I am simultaneuosly having the kind of day where I have a task that would probably take 40 hours to complete really well. I am up against the wall and have by the time I leave work, realistically, barring staying up all night (which is an option) about 10 hours.

You ever have one of those days where a project you thought was 50% done becomes a project that is 25% done and the remaining 75% (now with 1/4 more to do!) is screwed up? Those days are awesome, because they mean that you have something to do (the recession may be technically over, but I’m always happy for work) and remind you that you’re actually pretty good at doing them. It would be better if we could keep with yesterday’s status, but hey.
